Chris Bickley has assembled an extremely talented group of artists to accommodate his very talented guitar work. Each of the musicians and vocalists on this project are like pieces of a puzzle that fit Chris’s different playing styles… thus completing the puzzle and making a bigger picture. Sonically this cd is right on.
“Race Car” is a fast paced rocker that features Eric Klaastad (Love Tribe, Art Garfunkel, Cindy Lauper) on bass and BJ Zampa (House Of Lords, McAlpine, Dokken, Obsession) on drums.
“This Time It’s Gonna Hurt” has an “80’s Rock vibe” to it and features Jimmy Kunis (Cactus, Savoy Brown) on vocals, Michael K. Smith (Mind Storm) on bass and Bobby “T” Torello (Johnny Winter, Black Oak Arkansas, Grace Slick, Michael Bolton) on drums.
“Fallen” is a rocking song with a great guitar solo reminiscent of Vinnie Vincent and features Scott Spray (Johnny and Edgar Winters) on bass, Bobby “T” on drums and Vic Steffens on organ.
“Crying Shame” has a heavier feel to it and features Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge, MSG, TSO) on vocals, Paul Pedroncelli (Down Monday) on drums and Rick Gauthier (Vital Might) on bass.
“All Or Nothing” gives off a funky vibe with Dino Fiorenza (Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai) on bass, Gaetano Nicholosi (Ironhorse) on drums, Mark Focarile (Mile Marker, Zero) on keyboards and guitar solos by Vick LeCar, Tom “The Suit” Forst and John Bruno (X Factor, Obsession).
“Chemical Love” another solid rocker and features Michael K. Smith on bass and Gaetano Nicholosi on drums.
“Lead You Astray” has a modern rock feel and features Rick Gauthier on bass, Paul Pedroncelli on drums and Chandler Mogel (Outloud, Talon) on vocals.
“Tapestry Of Souls” is a great track and one of my favorites with Alex Pierce on bass, Gaetano Nicholosi on drums and Mark Focarile on keyboards.
“Walk In The Park” has a “chase scene in a movie” vibe featuring Chris Mccarvill (House Of Lords, Jeff Scott Soto, Obsession) on bass, Gaetano Nicholosi on drums and Bill Holloman (Danny Gatton band, Le Chic) on horns.
“A Step Behind” another heavy hitter features Mike Vescera (Yngwie Mamlstein, Loudness) on vocals, Michael K Smith on bass and Michael Giammattei on drums.
“Old No. 9” is another favorite of mine featuring Dominik Mauro on bass, Vic Steffens on drums and Hammond organ.
Like I said, this cd is sonically on target and any of these tracks could and should be used on a motion picture soundtrack. There are just two things that I wish were different on this cd. One, that Terri Lane, an amazing vocalist and longtime friend of Chris’s was on the cd and the other is that the track “Old No. 9” would’ve been at least 5 minutes longer!
